To help my with filming my projects and get a better quality, I’ve built a simple arm to hold the camera over my workbench.

It looks ugly but this is a prove of concept and If it works out I think I will redo it in nice at some point. But for the moment it fullfills its job and work.

The four main parts are all 40cm long (a bit over 15 inch). The arm can extend quite a bit with this. I originally planned on adding some springs or strings with weights to hold it up, but my camera (iPhone) is so light it is not needed.

Thing to make better for the next time:

  • Nicer wood ;-)
  • Needs to have another axis to rotate around (at the bottom where the camera is attached)
  • Camera needs to be hold better - it can slide out.
